Myotherapy
Myotherapy assesses and physically treats myofacial (muscle and connective tissue) pain, injury and/or problems with impaired movement and mobility.
Myotherapy aims to restore balance and maintain the body's normal function of the soft tissue structure - muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue and can be applied as a preventative, corrective and/or rehabilitative phase of therapy
Myofascial pain can be described as a "deep ache", "tightness" or "tenderness" in a particular area. The intensity of the pain can vary as will the occurrence of referred pain in other areas.
Myotherapists are multi-skilled professionals. Before treatment, a Myotherapist will thoroughly test the body to focus on specific problem areas. They use a wide range of techniques in their treatment such as massage, trigger point therapy, dry needling and corrective exercise in all areas of therapy - prevention, correction and rehabilitation.
