Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a form of holistic medicine that treats the whole person - body, mind and spirit. Dietary and lifestyle advice, herbal medicine, vitamin and mineral supplementation, Iridology, Bush Flower Remedies and Holistic Counselling may be employed to bring the body back into a state of balance.
In Naturopathy, health is viewed as a positive state, not merely as the absence of disease. Each person is considered unique and the treatment is tailored towards the individual's needs. Promotion of health and prevention of disease is the aim, with emphasis placed on the individual taking responsibility for his or her own health.
Treatment Protocol
A detailed case history is taken looking at medical and family history, all the signs and symptoms, the relationship between the body's systems and how daily activities have affected the individual. The practitioner looks at the diet, nutrient and mineral requirements, and can prescribe the appropriate herbs, nutritional supplements and Bush Flower Remedies, along with suitable lifestyle advice. The consultation generally takes one hour and follow-ups 30-45 minutes if Acupuncture is not prescribed.
Who Can Benefit From Naturopathy?
Anyone. Naturopathy can provide a drug-free treatment for any imbalance or range of illnesses, whether acute or chronic. It is also effective for the many people who don't have an illness as such, but just don't feel quite right.
Naturopathy is commonly used to detoxify and support the body systems to bring them back to a state of equilibrium. Also, Naturopathy can complement Western Medical treatment to reverse side effects and optimize positive effects.
