Osteopathy

Osteopathy is the treatment of the musculo-skeletal system based on the premise that many problems, conditions and even diseases (path) are caused by incorrect alignment of bones (osteo) muscles and ligaments.

Osteopathy is a ‘whole body' system treating not just the symptoms, but the whole person. Osteopaths have some of the widest range of techniques in complementary medicine at it's disposal, to treat musculo-skeletal problems and other functional disorders of the body.

Osteopathy works not only to correct these imbalances, but locate its origin, treat its symptoms and any secondary problems or pain that may occur.

Osteopathy concentrates on the body's structure, framework and function and works at all times with the body's capacity to heal itself and our osteopaths work to facilitate this strength.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy focuses on the cerebrospinal fluid and any irregularities of its flow. The movement of spinal fluid in and around the body's central nervous system is believed to create a vital body rhythm, just as important as our heart beat or the breath we take.

Cranial osteopathy is a gentle and very effective treatment which utilises the movement that occurs within the whole body in response to the slight amount of motion that occurs within the bones of the skull and face. This helps reduce strains to the nervous system, the circulatory system, the hormonal system and the immune system and helps achieve an improvement in overall body function, wellbeing and vitality.

  •  birth injury
  •  headache and migraine
  •  back, neck and shoulder pain
  •  sports injury
  •  postural strains
